Whereas Zoning By-law 2006-50, as amended, restricts the maximum width of residential driveways to a certain dimension;

Whereas the Town Parking Pass Program allows for 16 parking passes per year, per vehicle;

Whereas some property owners are widening their driveways over the permitted width and the Town is taking enforcement action;

Now therefore be it resolved that staff be directed to review provisions of Zoning By-law 2006-50 as amended, for the widening of residential driveways;

That staff provide an update regarding the review to Council in the first quarter of 2020;

That a temporary suspension of enforcement be applied until the review is completed;

That the temporary suspension of enforcement shall not be deemed to be a condonation of any contravention of the Zoning By-law, as amended, or any successor to the By-law, by the Town;

That the temporary suspension of enforcement of Zoning By-law 2006-50, as amended, shall not constitute or in any way grant or authorize a variance from the Zoning By-law or confer any legal non-conforming or non-complying status in any way whatsoever.
